Biscayne's Beacon: Tale of the Cape Florida Lightstation

Located on the southern tip of Key Biscayne, Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park is home to the Cape Florida Lighthstation. Surrounded by coconut palms and seagrapes, Cape Florida is a testimony to the hard work of the many who have toiled to restore her to her 1855 condition.

Accompanied by a 1969 replica of the keepers cottage and cookhouse, the lighthouse continues to draw large crowds hoping for a chance to tour the lightstation. As a tour guide since January 1999, I am proud to share the tale of Cape Florida with visitors both in the park and here on the internet. Welcome to "MY" lighthouse and enjoy your tour!
